Lara Cornett, Owner of Kiddos Early Learning Center
In August of 2023, I was months away from opening my first early learning center. For the last decade, I have served children and their families through elementary afterschool programs, and marketing to families with little ones was new to me. During our month of coaching, we worked through Kiddo’s ELC branding materials, solidifying our vision, mission, and core values. We worked on ways of sharing this with staff and weaving it into the fabric of the Kiddo’s culture. I loved the way Amelia was able to use vocabulary that resonated with our staff and families. For example, we don’t have an employee or customer promise. We have a “pinky promise.”
We brainstormed ways to reach families with young children. She suggested we get a booth at a local farmers market. This proved to be a wonderful way for us to get exposure and connect to the community, generating tours and enrollments. She reviewed our digital presence, gave pointers on ways to enhance user experience on our website, and gave content ideas for social media.
Amelia’s superpower is idea generation. I walked away after each session with a notebook full of ideas and resources like podcasts and books to follow up on. As an entrepreneur, I often venture into uncharted territories. For this marketing adventure, it was a relief to have a guide who would share her map and this made our journey enjoyable, efficient, and effective.
